The most important things in the world

The making of centuries requires some vocational training.
There are countless possibilities: herein is the definition of the three main categories of such trade. In spite of their historical and emotional connection, they lead parallel existences in this world, and are said to be irreconcilable.

Archaeologists are dignified scholars of time. They maintain the gentle arrogance of a collective rhythm, they convey wise and unchanging rules. Their enemies are the looters, for whom time and money are equivalent. Archeology rescues the days from disbelief.
Archeologists are the masters of old cities, of the sense of calm, of shame, fear, of places that are safe and sound, the classification of things, faith, of the origin of names, music and the education of children.

Mutants are the voice of evolution. They risk displacement and amnesia. They are many. Their enemies are all sorts of biographers and tax collectors. On behalf of the species, mutants alter sequences and practice contagion.
Mutants are the masters of new cities, of shortcuts, odd numbers, diseases, cures, language, translation, dust, war, schizophrenia, of friendship between peoples, of diplomacy.

Ventriloquists are religious interpreters of what does not live and of what is to come. They seize the attention and promise many answers. Their enemies are their own voices. Their stomach is plentiful with every sacrifice, every tremor, and is a host of animal organs.
Ventriloquists are the masters of surprise, the sense of confusion, of communication, deception, crime, the masters of stages, irresponsibility, games, hiding places, of the night and its allies, the police, and speed.

Only those who remember the last century should remember it. Only those who love the present time can build it.
The most important things in the world remain elusive, secret, urgent.

Arriscam o movimento e a amnésia.

Open Call for creative projects
April 2021

"In the 2020s, we're gonna see a lot of this struggle, as earlier global transit situations, and logistical situations, and data-flow situations, which used to be smooth, flat, easy, painless and boring, become snarled, complicated, punitive and irrationally jealous.
The existent epidemic quarantines are disguising these brand-new blockades and off-the-wall shoot-to-kill Checkpoint Charlies, but when-and-if Covid19 recedes these red-tape blockades will become stark and naked."

Bruce Sterling, The WELL: State of the World 2021

We are looking for original, unpublished, creative projects that explore this theme using the medium of text, photography, illustration, video, and sound.
